Alderson
and Associates Landscape Architects is a specialist landscape design and
planning service which has operated in Central Queensland with Nick Alderson as
the principal, since 1997.
Nick
Alderson had previously practiced landscape architecture in local government
for 12 years prior to setting up his own practice and, as such, the consultancy
represents the evolution of the former local government operation into the
private sector.
During
its period of operation the practice has gained a wide range of clients and
this is reflected in the variety of project developments, including: the Lake
Awoonga recreation areas, regional and local parks, University of Central
Queensland, (Gladstone campus), industrial sites, child care centres, aged care
accommodation, regional hospitals, commercial and residential developments and
rural holdings.
Nick
and his design team have gained a reputation for providing both innovative and
cost effective design solutions for their diverse range of clients.
In October 2008, Nick relocated to the Northern
Rivers area of New South Wales
and opened a branch office near Lismore. A number of projects have already been
completed in regional NSW including the redevelopment of the Narrabri Hospital.
Derek Bacon will be managing the Central Queensland
office which will now operate from a Gladstone
base. Nick will continue to service his Central Queensland
clients and will travel regularly between both regions.
