This small garden in Japanese style occupies the immediate area around the rear of the main house. The garden relies heavily on the combination of natural materials (stone and gravels) with the simple use of plants in order to create a quiet, contemplative space. Features include: granite stepping-stones, a curved stone seat wall and broad beds of gravel (Bauxite) and Zoysia grass which has been used to create a moss like carpeting effect. The seat wall, with its easterly aspect creates an ideal outdoor breakfast location, or somewhere to enjoy a glass of wine in the early evening. Garden construction was commenced in early 2002.
